The city of Gainesville and Gainesville Regional Utilities both have released their proposed budgets for fiscal year 2016, which are now available for the public to review.
The Gainesville City Commission will begin holding budget meetings later this month during which commissioners will hash out various details in the budgets and discuss tweaks they might like to make. The new fiscal year begins on October 1, so the commission must approve the GRU and general government budgets by then.
